Principals

Juan Cortez, III, Enrolled Agent. Managing Member

Juan Cortez, III is an IRS Enrolled Agent licensed to represent businesses and individuals before the IRS since March 1993. He has fifteen years of federal service, including working with the IRS, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division Fraud Section, and a USDA Litigation Team. He is an experienced and dedicated professional committed to his work and clients.  Juan manages the majority of the federal tax-related issues and personally contacts clients to keep them informed of case status.

Chris Cortez, Tax Analyst and Part-Owner

Chris worked with the Internal Revenue Service eight years. His most recent position was with the Examination Division. He joined the Company in June 2016. Chris assists with – audit-preparation; responses to IRS inquiries; legal research; preparation of IRS collection information statements; preparation of income tax returns, sales tax returns and federal and state employment tax returns; electronically filing Forms 1099, W-2s, 941s, 940 and income tax returns; accounting work and assumes other roles and performs other duties as needed.

While employed by the IRS, Chris worked primarily as a work leader.  He occasionally served as a classroom instructor and acting group manager during the group manager’s absences. He also worked with a management advisory team and as a technical advisor.
